Media NAS / Servers - How to : Change storage format of archived Music CDs

Introduction

This document describes how to change the storage format for archived or Drop-n-Rip'd Music CDs.

Formats available are:

  • WMA Lossless (Windows Media Audio)
  • FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec)
  • WAV (Wave File)
  • M4A (Apple Lossless)
  • MP3 (Default - Set to 320kbps)

In this example, we will change the default MP3 setting to WMA Lossless.

Procedure

  • Log into your Media NAS / Server
  • Double-click on the Dashboard icon to start the Dashboard



  • Click on the 'Drop-n-Rip Archiving' Tab



  • Click on SETTINGS on the right hand side



  • Click on MUSIC COPIER
  • On this page, under "TARGET FORMAT," select the format or type you wish to convert the music into. (In this example, we will choose WMA Lossless.)
  • If desired, click on CONFIGURE to set up / configure the bitrate, channels, etc. 



  • The system is now configured to archive music into WMA Lossless.
  • Click APPLY, then OK to complete the setup.



  • Your system is now ready for archiving of music CDs into WMA Lossless (or whatever format selected above)!
